In the 1960s, Bharat introduced a game-changing product, the Stilan Heavy Duty Tile, which was touted to be as “hard as diamonds” and was perfect for industrial usage. It was tough, durable, and had a clean look that made it the preferred choice for textile factories, railway platforms, and other large mechanized spaces. Composed of abrasion gains, it was guaranteed that the tiles could handle years of heavy use and such was the confidence, Bharat declared that “if, within a period of two years, any tiles get worn out under normal factory use, we shall replace it”. Throughout the 1960s to the 70s, a series of creative campaigns complete with fun illustrations and quirky captions were created, where the Stilan Tiles was referred to as being “Strong and Stylish” and “tiles like diamonds” that would make any workers and Industrialist happy. These advertisements also reflected the change in India’s industrial landscape and also the changing phases in BFT’s history.
