Creating a new floor without making a prolonged mess is an art. A micro cement floor is essentially a thin layer of cement that is applied to an existing base floor, which can be an existing stone, a tile or concrete floor. Polymer modified concrete increased in use after the Second World War. In the 1950s the U.S was looking for alternatives to regular concrete for repairs of aircraft carriers. Synthetic polymers were blended into Portland cement mortars, to produce surfaces that had the strength of cement and the tractability of rubber. In the US and Canada polymers were used to make bridge and parking lot overlays in the late 1970s. The modified concrete main function was to reduce the permeability of concrete and to increase resistance to chloride penetration, toughness and adhesion.

1. It’s multipurpose! Want to make a cobblestone-effect floor? Some furniture? How about a wall finishing? Micro cement is a material with so many diverse applications

2. Micro cement is ideal as a resurfacing material. You can give a space an entirely new look without pulling out an existing floor. That means big savings !

3. It was touted as one of the biggest design trends of 2023 , and no wonder. It’s easy to maintain, durable, and versatile. What’s more, it’s waterproof, making it an ideal substance to be used in bathrooms.

4. The installation time for a micro cement floor is far less than that of a tiled one. Only a few days and you're done !

5. It is a versatile product, and the hand application of cement with a trowel leaves its own groove marks, which make for interesting and unique artistic patterns on the floor! The floor can be coloured in a variety of hues, lending a shaded finesse. The texture can be matte, polished, metallic, grooved, stamped…pretty much anything you want it to be!

6. The ambience our micro cement can create ranges from stylish to rustic, classic to contemporary, meditative to workshop, depending on the décor and creativity of our clients and their designers !
